The greater the hurt, the greater the healing.

That's the belief that drives my work.

I became a therapist because I've seen what's possible when people stop managing their pain and start actually healing from it. Not coping strategies layered on top of unresolved trauma. Not indefinite support for symptoms that have a real, treatable cause.

Genuine change; the kind where a client comes in one person and leaves, over time, as someone who feels ownership over themselves, their past, and their future.

That's what therapy can do. That's what I'm here for.

Why Trauma

I specialize in trauma because it moves me, and because I can do the work.

Sitting with someone while they describe the worst moments of their life requires a particular kind of steadiness. I know myself well enough to know I have it. My own nervous system stays regulated when a client's doesn't, and that stability matters enormously in trauma treatment. Not everyone can hold that space. I can, so I do.

I'm also drawn to trauma because of how frequently it goes unrecognized. Many of the clients I've worked with came to me diagnosed with depression and anxiety, sometimes for years, when what they were actually living with was unaddressed PTSD. After trauma-focused treatment, their symptoms didn't just improve. They changed substantially. That pattern is part of why I take thorough assessment seriously and why I don't accept a presenting diagnosis at face value.

How I Think About Therapy

I treat therapy the way a physician treats medicine.

I use evidence-based approaches, like CBT, DBT, ACT, and Trauma-Focused CBT, not because insurance requires it, but because I want to know that what I'm doing is actually shown to work. Watching a client with OCD go from being unable to touch a doorknob without immediately washing their hands to being comfortable lying on the floor is a reminder of what structured, rigorous treatment can accomplish. That kind of outcome isn't luck. It's the result of applying the right intervention to the right problem.

Holding space matters. Feeling heard matters. But I believe therapy should also produce measurable results; that you should be able to point to concrete changes in how you think, how you function, and how you move through your life.

If you're looking for a clinician who takes your mental health as seriously as your physical health, I'd like to work with you.
